The ride

What is a private ride from MCO to Walt Disney World?

Front of the black Luna Negra Chevrolet Suburban with the Luna Negra plate
The Luxury SUV, a Chevrolet Suburban: up to five riders and six bags.

It is a one-way ride in a black Luxury SUV or Luxury Transit reserved for your party alone, from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Walt Disney World resort or hotel where you are staying. The chauffeur drives to your resort entrance and to nothing else first: no second pick-up at the airport, no other family’s hotel before yours.

Every price on this page is for the whole vehicle, and it already holds the tolls, the parking, the airport fees and the taxes. A gratuity is not in the fare; whether to add one is your call, and the drivers do appreciate it. On board there is bottled water, device chargers and WiFi. Your flight number goes into the form so the chauffeur knows when you actually land, and a car seat for each small child is fitted at no charge.

This page answers one trip: landing at MCO with a Disney resort as the destination. For rides the other way, or from Orlando Sanford, the airport transfers page lists every airport ride we drive.

The price

How much does a private car from MCO to Walt Disney World cost?

Reserve from MCO to any Walt Disney World resort or hotel and the form prints $125 for the Luxury SUV, which seats up to five riders, or $170 for the Luxury Transit with up to eight riders aboard. Nine to eleven riders in the Transit is $195. Each of those numbers is the whole fare for the vehicle; nothing per person is added on top.

One-way prices to Walt Disney World resorts and hotels, one flat figure for the vehicle
Pick-upLuxury SUV, up to 5 ridersLuxury Transit, up to 11 riders
Orlando International (MCO)$125from $170

Why the Transit says “from”: eight riders or fewer pay $170, and nine, ten or eleven pay $195. Both figures hold when the ride runs from your Disney resort back to MCO.

Other starting points for a Disney ride, Orlando Sanford (SFB) and the Port Canaveral cruise port among them, are priced in the reservation form: choose the pick-up, choose Walt Disney World, and the number is on screen before you pay.

Two lines can join the fare, each shown before you pay: a stop on the way, $20 for up to 25 minutes, and a round trip, which takes $10 off the pair of rides. Split $125 five ways and the SUV comes to $25 a rider; the Transit at $170 with eight aboard is $21.25 each.

At MCO

Where does my chauffeur meet me at MCO?

Collect your bags first, then walk to Ground Transportation: your chauffeur waits there and takes the luggage from that point on.

The terminals differ. Flights into Terminals A and B send you to Level 2 for baggage claim; Terminal C keeps its baggage claim and arrivals curb on Level 6, with a Meet and Greet area inside the terminal on the same level. Your airline tells us which terminal you land in, so give it in the form with the flight number.

The airport advises anyone collecting a passenger to allow at least 20 minutes after the aircraft arrives, and 40 minutes when a bag was checked, for the walk from the gate to baggage claim. Our side of that is simple: the flight is tracked, the first hour of waiting costs nothing, and after an international flight the free period is 90 minutes.

Tick the ride-texts box when you reserve and the driver and vehicle, a reminder before pick-up and any flight update reach you by text.

Walt Disney World

Which Disney resorts does the ride go to, and how do I enter mine?

All of them. In the reservation form the destination is one entry, Walt Disney World resorts and hotels, and the fare is identical for every resort on Disney property. The form asks for your resort’s name once the destination is picked, so the chauffeur has the exact entrance.

Disney groups its hotels into resort areas, and the area name tells you roughly where on the property you are headed:

  • Magic Kingdom Resort Area: Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the cabins and campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
  • EPCOT Resort Area: Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve hotels.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort Area: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and the All-Star Movies, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts.
  • Wide World of Sports Resort Area: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
  • Disney Springs Resort Area: Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort (French Quarter and Riverside) and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

On arrival, Disney lists check-in at 3:00 PM for its Resort hotels and 4:00 PM for the Deluxe Villas. Land in the morning and you will likely reach the resort before the room is ready; Disney’s Online Check-In sends a notice when the room is available, and until then the My Disney Experience app or a MagicBand opens certain areas of the hotel, the pool among them.

Inside Walt Disney World, Disney runs complimentary buses for guests of select resort hotels, starting 45 minutes before a park opens and running up to an hour after it closes, with boats to Magic Kingdom from some resorts and the Skyliner gondola linking others. Most families therefore use our car for the two airport legs and for a day off the property, which is covered further down.

A hotel off Disney property, in Lake Buena Vista or Kissimmee for instance, is a different destination in the form; the resort delivery page explains how those hotel rides are priced.

Families

Can we bring children and car seats?

Yes, and the seats cost nothing. Enter each child’s age in the form and the matching seat rides in the vehicle: a baby seat for ages 0 to 1, a high-back booster for 1 to 3 and a bottom-only booster for 3 to 5. Every child of 5 or under rides in one, and your own seat is welcome if you prefer it.

Count the children as riders: the SUV carries five people in total, car seats included, and the Transit eleven. The adult who reserves must be 18 or older, and the children travel on that booking.

For the Disney days themselves, Disney’s own Minnie Van rides inside the resort, ordered through the Lyft app, carry up to two complimentary child seats, which Disney says are required for children under 6. That is for moving around once you are there; the airport ride is ours, and its seats are fitted before we leave for MCO.

Luggage

How much luggage fits on the ride to Disney?

Six checked-size bags ride in the SUV with five people; fifteen go in the Transit with eleven. The form asks for the count of checked bags and offers the SUV only when your party is five or fewer with six bags or fewer, so a family of four landing with eight suitcases sees the Transit at $170 instead.

A stroller folds into the luggage space, so count it as a bag when you fill in the number. A folding wheelchair or a scooter rides at the same flat price; say which it is in the form.

More than eleven riders, or more bags than fifteen, means a second vehicle: call or text (407) 624-8582 and it is arranged with the first.

The fleet

Which vehicle goes to Walt Disney World?

Both vehicles run the MCO to Disney route; the count of riders and bags picks between them.

Planning the days

Can I reserve the ride back, add a stop, or spend a day at Universal?

Switch the form to round trip, give the date and time you want to leave the resort, and both rides are reserved together with $10 taken off the pair. The return runs from your Disney resort to MCO at the same price as the ride in.

A grocery or pharmacy stop between the airport and the resort is $20 for up to 25 minutes; add it in the form so it sits in the total before you pay. A stop that runs past 25 minutes costs $10 more, invoiced by email after the ride.

A day at Universal from your Disney resort is its own ride in the form, $85 in the Luxury SUV and $120 in the Luxury Transit each way: pick Walt Disney World as the start and Universal Orlando resorts as the destination, then reserve the ride back the same way.

Landing late or leaving early: pick-ups between 10:00 PM and 11:59 PM, and between 4:00 AM and 5:59 AM, add $20; pick-ups between 12:00 AM and 3:59 AM add $30, and the form shows the line before you pay.

The form takes a reservation up to a year out and no later than 24 hours before the pick-up; inside 24 hours, call or text (407) 624-8582. You pay the whole fare by card on a secure payment page when you reserve, the vehicle is held from that moment, and the driver’s name follows by email. A family reunion arriving on several flights, or a wedding party spread over a weekend, is set up through the events and group travel page.

Your options

Is a private car worth it beside a shuttle or a ride app?

Work it out per seat. Take the fare a shared shuttle or a ride app quotes you, multiply by the number of vehicles your riders and luggage would fill, and divide by your headcount; then set that beside $125 split five ways, or $170 split eight ways. Where the line falls depends on your group, and the arithmetic is yours to do with the table above as our side of it.

What the arithmetic leaves out is who else is in the vehicle. A shared shuttle may call at other resorts before yours; this ride goes to one entrance, with the seats your children need already in place, at a fare printed before you pay and unchanged afterwards.

Disney describes its Minnie Van service as rides within Walt Disney World Resort, ordered and paid through the Lyft app and priced by the distance travelled inside the resort, and notes that it is not included in a vacation package. The ride in from MCO is a separate choice, and this page is one of the ways to make it.

We recently used Luna Negra Transportation to transport us to and from MCO to Disney for our 25th Anniversary. To say we were extremely pleased would be an understatement. Andrea was highly recommended through a Disney FB page and now we know why. Really friendly and an awesome owner/operator. The car was immaculate, cool and comfortable. We will definitely be using her again when are down in the Florida area. Thank you Andrea!

We had a great ride with Stephanie from Luna Negra! She had great communication and was oh so lovely. The Suburban was clean and spacious with already installed car seats for all 3 of my kids. Reasonably priced for private transportation from MCO to Disney. I would definitely recommend them!

We used this company to transport us from the airport to our Disney Resort and then back at the end of the trip. Everything went flawless with them! They also included carseats for both my 1 year old and 2 year old. Price wise they were very reasonable. I highly recommend them and will use them again!

Questions

Walt Disney World ride questions, answered.

Do I need to know my Disney resort before I reserve?

You need a drop-off place, and for this ride it is Walt Disney World resorts and hotels; the resort’s name goes in once the destination is picked. If the resort changes before the trip, call or text at least 24 hours before pick-up and the address is updated.

Is the price the same for a value resort and a deluxe resort?

Yes. Every resort and hotel on Disney property shares the one destination in the form, so Pop Century and the Grand Floridian cost the same $125 in the SUV and $170 or $195 in the Transit. What changes the fare is the vehicle, a stop, a round trip or a late-night pick-up, never the hotel.

Does the chauffeur wait if my flight is delayed?

Yes. The flight number you give is tracked, so the pick-up moves with the real landing time. Waiting is free for the first hour, and for 90 minutes after an international arrival.

Can a party of ten ride together to Disney?

Yes, in the Luxury Transit: eleven riders and fifteen bags at most. From MCO a party of nine, ten or eleven pays $195 for the vehicle, and eight or fewer pay $170.

Can we make a grocery stop between MCO and the resort?

Yes. Add a stop in the form, $20 for up to 25 minutes, and it is in your total before you pay. A stop that runs over 25 minutes is $30 in all, invoiced by email after the ride.

What if we cancel or our dates move?

Cancel 24 hours or more before the pick-up time and the whole fare goes back to your card; cancel inside 24 hours and there is no refund. Date, time and address changes work the same way: at least 24 hours before pick-up, by call or text to (407) 624-8582.

Can you take us from a Disney resort to Universal for the day?

Yes. That ride is priced on its own in the form, $85 in the Luxury SUV and $120 in the Luxury Transit each way, with Walt Disney World as the start and Universal Orlando resorts as the destination. Reserve the ride there and the ride back as two rides, or look at the chauffeur by the hour if you want the vehicle to stay with you.

Do you also drive from MCO to Epic Universe or the other Universal hotels?

Yes. The MCO to Epic Universe page sets out that ride with its own prices, and rides to the other Universal Orlando resorts are priced in the reservation form the same way. Pick the destination and the number appears before you pay.
