The ride

A private ride is one black vehicle, a Luxury SUV or a Luxury Transit, reserved for your party and for nobody else, from Orlando International Airport to a Universal Orlando Resort hotel, to Universal CityWalk or to the park gates. The chauffeur drives you there and only there: no loop through other hotels, no second pick-up at another terminal.
You pay one figure for the vehicle, with tolls, parking, airport fees and taxes inside it, so a couple and a party of five pay the same $110 in the SUV. A tip is yours to decide and is not built into that figure. On board there is bottled water, device chargers and WiFi, and the car seats you asked for are fitted before the car reaches the airport. You can reserve in English or in Spanish.
This page covers the Universal Orlando Resort hotels and the CityWalk and parks area. Epic Universe and the three hotels at it are priced as a separate destination with a page of their own, MCO to Epic Universe transportation. Riders bound for Disney, Sanford or a cruise find every route on the Orlando airport transfers page.
The price
One way from MCO, the Luxury SUV for up to five riders is $110, and the Luxury Transit is $170 for a group of up to eight riders or $190 for nine to eleven. Those are the figures the reservation form prints for the destination it calls Universal Orlando resorts, and they hold for every hotel in that group.
| Pick-up | Luxury SUV, up to 5 riders | Luxury Transit, up to 11 riders |
|---|---|---|
| Orlando International (MCO) | $110 | from $170 |
The Transit carries a “from” because its price steps once, by headcount: eight riders or fewer pay $170, nine to eleven pay $190. The SUV has one price, $110, whether one person rides or five. The trip from your Universal hotel back to MCO costs the same as the trip out.
Rides to Universal Orlando from Sanford Airport (SFB) or from the Port Canaveral cruise port are priced in the reservation form: choose the pick-up place and the figure appears before you pay.
Two more lines can appear in that figure. A round trip takes $10 off the two rides together, printed as a saving of its own. A stop on the way, for groceries or a pharmacy, adds $20 for up to 25 minutes. Split a full SUV five ways and $110 is $22 a rider; the Transit at $190 for eleven riders is $17.27 a rider.
At MCO
Collect your bags first, then go to Ground Transportation. Your chauffeur is standing there, and from that point the bags are the chauffeur’s job, not yours.
At Terminals A and B the airport’s terminal map puts the baggage carousels on Level 2 and the town car, limousine, taxi and shuttle pick-ups on Level 1, so the car is one level below the carousel. At Terminal C the map lists baggage claim on Level 6, and the airport names Level 1 as that terminal’s Ground Transportation level.
Type your airline and flight number into the Track my flight line of the form. The chauffeur watches that flight, so an early landing or a late one moves the pick-up with it. The first hour of waiting costs nothing, and after an international flight the free hour becomes ninety minutes.
The airport tells anyone collecting a passenger to count on at least 20 minutes after the plane arrives, and 40 minutes when there is a checked bag, before that passenger is out of baggage claim. That is the gap between landing and the car, not a delay in the ride, and the chauffeur plans for it.
Tick the first box in the form and the ride texts reach your phone: which driver and which vehicle are coming, a reminder before pick-up, and any update on your flight.
Universal Orlando
The reservation form groups eight Universal Orlando Resort hotels under one destination, Universal Orlando resorts, at one price. The Loews Hotels site lists them as Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal Aventura Hotel, and the two Universal Endless Summer Resort inns, Surfside Inn and Suites and Dockside Inn and Suites. The form knows those names, so write yours in the “Which resort or hotel?” line and the chauffeur drives to that door.
Once you are at the hotel, Universal’s own guide describes the way into the parks. Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Sapphire Falls have water taxis and landscaped walking paths to Universal CityWalk, the hub Universal names for Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus buses to Volcano Bay and to Epic Universe. Cabana Bay and Aventura have a short walking path to Volcano Bay and buses that leave from near the front of the hotel to the other parks and CityWalk; the two Endless Summer inns ride the buses as well. Universal’s Portofino Bay page also describes Early Park Admission, entry to one of its theme parks up to an hour early with valid park admission.
If you are not staying on the property and want the parks or CityWalk straight from the plane, Universal’s guide names one drop-off and pick-up area for Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay and CityWalk: the North Parking Garage at 6000 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819, with no parking fee for a drop-off or a pick-up. From there, in Universal’s words, you walk into the park from the lot or through CityWalk. Write Universal CityWalk or the park’s name in the drop-off line and the form prices it as the same Universal Orlando destination.
Epic Universe and its three hotels, Helios Grand, Stella Nova and Terra Luna, are a different destination in the form with a different price; riders going there should read the Epic Universe ride page. For Walt Disney World hotels, and for what happens at the hotel door, the Disney and Universal resort delivery page is the one to read.
Families
Yes, and there is no charge for them. The form asks how many children ride and how many are 5 or under, then which seats you need: a baby seat for ages 0 to 1, a high-back booster for ages 1 to 3, a booster for ages 3 to 5. Every child of 5 or under rides in a seat, and if you travel with your own, tick the box that says so and leave ours out.
A booking is made by an adult of 18 or older, and the children travel on that adult’s reservation. Count every child among the riders, because five riders of any age fill the SUV, and a sixth, even a baby, means the Transit.
Nobody outside your party rides with you, so the seats stay where you want them for the whole trip, and the stroller rides along with the luggage.
Luggage
The SUV carries six checked bags for five riders, and the Transit carries fifteen for eleven. Those bag counts are the limits the form works with, and a stroller or a car seat of your own takes bag space, so add it to the number you enter.
When a group of five enters seven bags, the form moves it to the Transit, which is $170 from MCO for that group. A family of four with four suitcases and a folded stroller still fits the SUV at $110.
A folding wheelchair or a mobility scooter rides at the same flat price; the form asks what it is and whether it folds so that the right vehicle comes. More than eleven riders takes more than one vehicle, which is arranged by phone or text at (407) 624-8582.
The fleet
Two black vehicles serve the Universal hotels: the SUV for most families, the Transit once the headcount or the bag count passes what the SUV holds.

The ride back to MCO is easiest to reserve as a round trip: switch the form to Round trip, give the return date and pick-up time, and both rides sit in one figure with the $10 saving already taken off. Your flight home goes into the return flight line so it can be followed too.
A stop for groceries before the hotel goes into the form as a stop: $20 for up to 25 minutes, in your total before you pay. Past 25 minutes the stop becomes $30, and that extra $10 arrives as an emailed invoice after the ride.
A stay that moves between parks is priced ride by ride. From a Universal Orlando hotel to Epic Universe, the SUV is $95 and the Transit is $140 for up to eight riders or $165 for nine to eleven. Between a Universal hotel and a Walt Disney World resort, in either direction, the SUV is $85 and the Transit is $120 for any group up to eleven. Each is its own reservation, with the two hotels in the pick-up and drop-off lines.
Universal’s Portofino Bay page lists check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 11 am, so a morning landing often leaves a few hours before the room; a grocery stop or a first afternoon at CityWalk fills them. A late flight is priced the same way with one addition: a pick-up from 10 PM to midnight or from 4 AM to 6 AM carries a $20 charge, and one from midnight to 4 AM carries $30, shown in the figure before you pay.
Reservations go in from a year ahead to 24 hours before pick-up. Inside 24 hours the form stops and gives the phone number instead: (407) 624-8582, by call or text. Larger parties, such as a conference group landing on different flights, are covered on the events and group transportation page.
Your options
Turn every quote into a price per rider. For five riders here, $110 is $22 a seat; for eleven, $190 is $17.27 a seat. Set those beside the per-seat figure you are offered elsewhere, count a car seat for every small child, and add the value you put on leaving the airport the moment your bags are in the car.
What a reservation here settles before you fly: the figure you paid is the figure, the driver is confirmed by email, the car seats are fitted for the ages you gave, your bags ride in your own vehicle, and the first stop after the airport is yours. Whether that is worth the difference is your call; the arithmetic above is the fair way to make it.
Reviews
Luna Negra Transportation (Andrea) is fantastic!! We used them for transportation from the Orlando airport to Universal and back again. The drivers were on time, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Andrea’s communication is superb and she even arrived early when I asked her last minute! The vehicles were immaculate and very comfortable. I will definitely use her again! Thank you Andrea!!!
I wish we could give more than 5 stars because you deserve more. It was very easy to schedule and Andrea and Sebastian were very professional and arrived early for pickup and even on our way back to MCO at 5:00am. If my family and I return back to Universal we would definitely use them again.
I had read a review of by someone who was blown away by the service so when I realized I hadn’t booked a return trip from Port Canaveral to Universal Studios, I frantically messaged the owner. She responded in less than 30 minutes (before we were out of cell range) and confirmed that a driver would be waiting for us at the end of our cruise. Upon arrival to the port, the driver was already waiting, and the drive was smooth and easy. Highly recommend!
Great communication, beautiful vehicle, extremely friendly and professional drivers - highly recommend would use every time I visit
Questions
Yes. Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific, Sapphire Falls, Cabana Bay, Aventura, Surfside Inn and Dockside Inn all sit in the Universal Orlando resorts destination, so the SUV from MCO is $110 to any of them. The three Epic Universe hotels are a separate destination, priced on the Epic Universe page.
Yes. Write Universal CityWalk or the park’s name in the drop-off line and the price is the same Universal Orlando figure. Universal’s guide puts the drop-off and pick-up area for the two parks, Volcano Bay and CityWalk at the North Parking Garage, 6000 Universal Boulevard, with no fee for dropping off.
Nine riders take the Luxury Transit, and from MCO a party of nine to eleven pays $190 for the vehicle. Eight or fewer would pay $170. Up to fifteen bags ride in it.
Not for the first hour. The chauffeur follows the flight number from your reservation, and waiting is free for sixty minutes, or ninety after an international arrival. If a delay looks longer than that, call or text (407) 624-8582.
Yes, as a separate reservation: between a Universal Orlando hotel and a Walt Disney World resort the SUV is $85 and the Transit is $120. Put the two hotels in the form’s pick-up and drop-off lines and the figure shows before you pay.
You pay the full fare by card on a secure payment page at the time you book, and the vehicle is reserved the moment that payment is made. An email then confirms your driver. Card payments run through Stripe, and your full card number is never seen or stored here.
Cancel 24 hours or more before the pick-up time and the whole fare goes back to the card you paid with. Cancel inside 24 hours and there is no refund, and a missed pick-up is not refunded either. The cancel button sits in your confirmation email, or call or text (407) 624-8582.
Yes: up to eleven riders and fifteen checked bags. Two families of four with ten bags between them fit, and they split $170 because the price is for the vehicle, not per person. For more than eleven people, a second vehicle is arranged by phone or text.
